Preserving Off-Road Heritage. Building Community. Creating Adventure.
About
The Utah Vintage 4x4 Rallye is a three-day gathering built for people who still believe in real machines, real trails, and real community. We celebrate the heritage of vintage 4x4 vehicles—Scouts, Jeeps, Broncos, Land Cruisers, Wagoneers, Blazers, Ramchargers, and every classic rig that helped define off-road culture.

This event isn’t about competition, trophies, or ego.
It’s about craftsmanship, adventure, and the stories behind the rigs we build and wheel.
Whether you wrench in your driveway, run a full fabrication shop, or you just bought your first project truck, the Utah Vintage 4x4 Rallye is a place to connect with people who share the same passion for keeping history alive and using these vehicles the way they were meant to be used.
Mission
To bring together vintage 4x4 enthusiasts for a weekend of trails, learning, friendships, and hands-on culture—celebrating the machines and the people who built off-road history.

Who We Are
The Utah Vintage 4x4 Rallye was created by enthusiasts who wanted something different—a true celebration of the vintage off-road community. We’re builders, veterans, adventurers, and everyday drivers who believe in preserving history and putting miles on these legends instead of leaving them in garages.
We’re here to build something meaningful and long-lasting in the heart of Utah, one of the most iconic off-road landscapes in the world.
Mike Johnson — Event Director
Marine Corps infantry veteran, Air Force officer, nurse practitioner, fabricator, and lifelong off-road enthusiast.
Mike has spent more than two decades building, driving, and teaching in extreme environments—from the deserts of Iraq and Afghanistan to the Utah backcountry. After years in military service and hands-on medical and technical roles, he wanted to create a gathering that brings people together around the culture and history of vintage off-roading.
He drives and restores classic rigs including an International Scout 800 and a WWII-era Willys MB, and he believes these machines should be driven, shared, and enjoyed—not left sitting in garages.
For Mike, this event is about more than trucks:
“Real community happens around campfires, tools on the ground, and miles on the odometer. This rally is built to bring that spirit back.”

Jake Johnson — Technical & Trail Director
Diesel mechanic with 20+ years of experience • Technical Service Expert for Wheeler machinery • Field service and off-road recovery specialist
Jake is a master diesel mechanic with more than two decades of hands-on experience maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heavy equipment and off-road machinery. As a Technical Service Expert for Wheeler, he has built a career solving complex mechanical problems in the field, often in extreme and remote environments where failure isn’t an option.
He has years of experience leading trail runs, providing field repairs, and recovering broken rigs on difficult terrain, making him the go-to technical authority for the Utah Vintage 4x4 Rallye. Jake brings deep knowledge of drivetrain systems, fabrication, suspension geometry, and real-world mechanical troubleshooting.
